HAMILTON, Ohio -- Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones says he has no intention of having his deputies use Narcan to help people who have overdosed.
"Basically, we're not going to use Narcan," Jones said last week on "Primetime Justice" with Ashleigh Banfield. "When the courts order me to do it, we're going to use it."

That goes against the prevailing theory of making Narcan as widely available as possible in order to help those who overdose on heroin and other opiates.
Jones said he was concerned about the dangers first responders face around needles and dealing with people who are sometimes upset after being revived with Narcan, which blocks the effects of opioids.

"It's very dangerous," Jones said. "We're not winning this battle and Narcan is not the answer."
