INDIANAPOLIS -- A 77-year-old man's Shih-Tzu was killed Wednesday when his house on the south side caught fire.
The fire began around 2:50 p.m. on the 200 block of West Gimber Street.
Firefighters got the flames under control within 20 minutes – but not before the fire did an estimated $50,000 worth of damage and killed 77-year-old Jim McGovern's Shih-Tzu "Teddy."
McGovern had lived in the home for 15 years. He told firefighters he has no idea what could have started the fire.
