INDIANAPOLIS — 62-year-old Forrest Tab Grant has been identified as the victim of Thursday's shooting on the near southwest side of Indianapolis, the Marion County Coroner's Office confirmed Friday.
IMPD said officers were dispatched to the intersection of Hiatt Street and West Morris Street on a report of a person shot around 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
Officers at the scene found the Grant near a bus stop with gunshot wounds.
Grant was take to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition and where he later died.
IMPD said officers detained a person near the scene, however, are unclear about the person’s involvement. Police believe this to be an isolated incident, and preliminary information indicates the victim knew the shooter.
