Silver Alert canceled after missing Danville man found safe

UPDATE: The statewide Silver Alert for a missing Danville man has been canceled. Danville police said James Rhea, 66, was located safe after the department received several calls and tips from citizens regarding sightings of Mr. Rhea walking on several county roadways east of Danville.

DANVILLE — A statewide Silver Alert has been issued for a missing Danville man who may be in extreme danger and in need of medical assistance.

According to the Silver Alert, the Danville Police Department is investigating the disappearance of James Rhea, 66.

Rhea is described as a white male, 5-feet 8-inches tall, weighing 190 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing black shorts and black shoes.

Police said Rhea was last seen around 7 a.m. Wednesday. He is believed to be in extreme danger and may require medical assistance.
