INDIANAPOLIS -- At least six different armed robberies occurred overnight between Saturday and Sunday – including one incident in which a woman was shot.

The first robbery was reported just after midnight on the 700 block of 11th Street. The victims told police they were robbed at gunpoint in an alley. The suspects ran away on foot.

Just under an hour later, a male suspect pointed a gun at three people on the 3700 block of La Grange Court and demanded money.

Since the victims had no money, the suspect took a 12-pack of beer one of them was holding and fled the scene.

Around 1:12 a.m., police were notified of a woman shot on the 2300 block of North Talbott Street. Officers arrived to find a woman with a gunshot wound to her bicep. She told police three men had shot her and stolen her cellphone.

Then, at 1:39 a.m., IMPD officers were approached by two young men at the Speedway gas station at 4830 W. 38th Street. The men told officers they were meeting someone to buy some shoes – but when they arrived, the other parties pointed guns at them and stole their cellphones.

Officers were called to the 5300 block of Tara Court North at 3:30 a.m. for a report of an armed robbery and assault.

A man told police he had been heading to start his vehicle when a suspect put a knife to his back and led him back to his apartment. The suspect reportedly then assaulted the man's wife and stole jewelry and money.

Police said the woman received minor injuries from the assault.

Just after 8:30 a.m., police were called to the 1000 block of Woodlawn Avenue for a person who was pepper sprayed and then robbed.

A 51-year-old man was arrested a short time later in connection with the robbery.

No other suspects had yet been apprehended in the other cases.
