FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Indiana State Police say a small plane has crashed in Fort Wayne, injuring one of its occupants while a second person aboard the plane fled the scene.
State Police Sgt. Ron Galaviz says the Cessna 150 clipped treetops before it struck a power line and crashed into the corner of a house's roof about 3:45 a.m. Saturday in a residential area just south of Smith Field Airport.
The single-engine plane ended up upside down in the home's backyard in the northeastern Indiana city.
The house's residents weren't injured, but one person on the plane was treated for minor injuries.
Police say a second person believed to have been on the plane fled from the crash scene.
Officers are searching for that individual while authorities await the arrival of the FAA.
