INDIANAPOLIS—A man has been rushed to an Indianapolis hospital following a Thursday afternoon house fire on the southeast side.

The fire broke out after 3 p.m. at the house in the 2900 block of south Walcott Avenue. That's near East Troy Avenue and South Keystone Avenue.

A spokesman for the Indianapolis Fire Department says a man in his 50's or 60's was suffering from cardiac arrest. His condition has not been released.

Heavy smoke was coming from the single story house as firefighters arrived.

This is a developing story and RTV6 will have additional information as it becomes available.
