INDIANAPOLIS -- Members of the Saint Monica Catholic Church say they are ready to rebuild following a fire earlier this week.
Sunday was the first mass held in the gym after fire damaged part of the church early Wednesday morning.

“It was a huge, huge shock. You never expect that to happen,” said Father Todd Goodson.
No one was inside the church at the time of the fire. Investigators have determined it was accidental, possibly caused by an electrical short.
The church has been a part of the community for more than 50 years, and it holds many memories for members past and present.
“There’s folks that have left and some have left and some have come back just to help, which I thought was really amazing in such a short time,” said Ann Griggs.
Damage is estimated at $400,000, but Goodson believes it will be more. However, he is remaining faithful, and his congregation is following his lead.
The St. Monica School was also displaced by the fire this week. Church leaders said classes will resume Monday at 8 a.m
