LAWRENCE — A 32-year-old Indianapolis man already in custody in another case, now faces charges in a pair of Lawrence church thefts.
The crimes took place in December and January.
At Lawrence United Methodist Church, a man came inside and asked to look around for a cell phone he said he left there.
Instead, he grabbed the church's collection money which was waiting to go to the bank.
At Cornerstone Baptist Church, a man came inside and asked for money.
When he left, church employees realized a purse was missing.
Lawrence Police say they received anonymous tips after releasing surveillance photos.
The suspect faces two felony theft charges.
