INDIANAPOLIS -- Monument Circle was closed for lunchtime Monday due to three suspicious packages found on the Circle.

Police say around 11 a.m., a Marine Corps veteran who was acting erratically approached them. He didn't do anything criminal, so they allowed him to leave in his car. Police recorded his license plate before he left.

Then, security inside Anthem told police there were suspicious packages, possibly under a car and another in a mailbox.

There is no significant threat to public safety, but an Explosive Ordnance Disposal team was dispatched to remove the two packages. Police found a third package in their search.

There were no explosives in the packages.

Police went to the man's address on Schofield Avenue and detained the man.

Monument Circle reopened around 1:45 p.m.
