INDIANAPOLIS -- Three people in their 70's were thrown from an Arby's booth Friday when a car crashed into the restaurant.
The collision occurred around 2:45 p.m. at the Arby's at 3314 S. East Street.
Investigators said a U-Haul box truck pulling into the Arby's lot didn't see a silver SUV – sideswiping it and pushing it 60 feet across the lot and into the building.
The SUV, driven by 32-year-old William Wyant, crashed into the building at a high rate of speed, bringing down a portion of the wall and doing approximately $30,000-worth of damage.
Approximately 10 customers and 10 employees were in the store at the time of the collision. Three of those customers – a 73- and 70-year-old man and a 70-year-old woman – were seated in a booth near where the collision occurred and were taken to Eskenazi Hospital with minor injuries.
No other injuries were reported in the crash.
