INDIANAPOLIS -- Helen Wells, the founder of the Indianapolis-based Helen Wells Agency, died Thursday at the age of 89.

Wells started the modeling agency in 1980. The business helped thousands with their acting and modeling careers.

The agency announced her passing in a post on its Facebook page.

"The loss is deeply felt by many, but Helen said many times over the years that she wanted to be remembered in celebration, not tears," the post reads. "In that spirit, wherever you are tonight, please take a moment to celebrate a truly beautiful woman."

Wells leaves behind five children, 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
