INDIANAPOLIS – A nonprofit that works to help teachers is now revealing it has made a bigger impact that ever before in the classroom.
Teachers frequently have a hard time getting all the supplies and items they need for a fully stocked classroom.
Teachers’ Treasures provides those teachers with the supplies they need for free, and executive director Margaret Sheehan says donations are up by about 36 percent this school year. That means an additional $800,000 in supplies that teachers have taken back to school with them.
Among the donations, a $2,000 check from the Scripps Howard Foundation, presented late last year by RTV6 General Manager Larry Blackerby.
