INDIANAPOLIS -- Thieves stole 11 batteries from tractor-trailers parked at a repair shop on Indianapolis’ southwest side on Tuesday.

The thefts happened at A&B Fleet Services on West Morris Street.

Adam Bright runs the business and said Tuesday isn't the first time his shop has been targeted.

Bright said Thieves have gotten away with at least 40 truck batteries since Christmas.

“Livid,” said Bright. “You know everybody that parks here parks at their own risk. We have owner-operators, one-truck guys just trying to make a living, and now they have to put $600 worth of batteries in their truck. It’s very frustrating.”

Bright’s business and customers aren’t the only victims – multiple businesses on the southwest side of the city have been targeted in recent months, and dozens of batteries have been stolen.

Police released a surveillance image from a theft on February 11 on Fortune Circle West, but they have not been able to identify whether the same men are responsible for all of the thefts.
