INDIANAPOLIS — Kids got their first chance to experience a remodeled Indianapolis park Tuesday, and it seems to be a hit.

Sandorf Park is on the city's south side next to Frederick Douglass School. Indy Parks celebrated its makeover with a grand re-opening.

The park's new look includes swings, a musical sensory plaza, unity spinner, fully accessible play structure, and more.

"We look forward to putting this park to greater use than ever before," said Douglass School Principal Debbie Garcia. "This has been a long-awaited day not only for all of our students, but this entire community."

The park also includes a junior NBA basketball court, a youth fitness challenge course with exercise equipment, and the state's first multi-use game area court, which allows for basketball, volleyball, pickleball, and more, all in one place.
