TIPTON COUNTY, Ind. – A man was accused of removing a railroad crossing arm in Tipton County Thursday.

Capt. Korey Henderson of the Tipton County Sheriff’s Office said after receiving a tip, he made a traffic stop with a tractor trailer being driven by 22-year-old Kyyle Johnson from Clarks Hill, Indiana.

Johnson told police after a train passed, the railroad crossing arm at State Road 28 and 150 East did not rise back to its original position, so he removed the bolts and threw the railroad arm into a ditch.

He was taken to jail on preliminary charges of railroad mischief, a level 6 felony.
