2016 Winter Warm Up

When: Saturday, February 27 - Registration opens at 7:30 a.m.

Where: Indianapolis City Market

Get ready to stretch your legs and (hopefully) enjoy some warmer weather. The 2nd Annual Winter Warm-Up, a four and eight mile run/walk, is held entirely on the Cultural Trail. All proceeds go towards the Indianapolis Cultural Trail, Inc.'s ongoing effort to keep the trail clear of snow and ice throughout the winter.

To Kill a Mockingbird

When: Saturday, February 28, and Sunday, February 29

Where: Indiana Repertory Theatre

With her death last week, it seems an appropriate time to take in this play of Harper Lee's beloved novel. Watch as the story of Scout, Jem, and Atticus Finch is brought to life.

Hot Jazz for Cool Kids

When: Sunday, February 28 from 3 to 4 p.m.

Where: The Indianapolis Public Library

Children and families are invited to this free performance by one of Indy's leading jazz musicians. It's a great way to share jazz music with children that will be fun for everyone. The program will be held in the Central Library's Clowes Auditorium.

You Are There - That Ayres Look

When: February 25 - August 6

Where: Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center

The newest exhibit at the Indiana History Center focuses on L.S. Ayers and Company. Historical photographs, artifacts and videos are all part of the display, as well as borrowed or donated original items. The Ayres cherub, which has never been on display outside of its resting place atop the downtown clock, is on loan from Downtown Indy and will reside inside the exhibit when she's not performing her holiday duties.

Pirates and Princesses - Storybook Adventures

When: February 25 to November 27

Where: The Children's Museum of Indianapolis

Tales of pirates, princesses, knights, and other adventurers captivate us through books, movies, TV shows, and in childhood daydreams. In Pirates and Princesses: Storybook Adventures, children and families are heroes of their own adventures, role-playing as royals and rebels in an inventive exhibit that inspires the imagination. The exhibit is free with museum admission.

Ford Indianapolis Boat, Sport & Travel Show

When: February 25 to February 28

Where: Indiana State Fairgrounds

Find your adventure in over 650,000 square-feet of pure, outdoor goodness in six super-sized buildings. Acres of boats, RVs, fishing tackle and hunting gear, outdoor destinations, paddle sports equipment, educational seminars, outdoor celebrities, and unique and entertaining attractions combine to form a veritable outdoor supernova, which cannot be fully experienced in a single visit.
