Top 6 things to do this weekend

There is a ton going on this weekend so there is no excuse for you to stay inside! 

Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament 

When: March 2-6

Where: Bankers Life Fieldhouse

If you want to watch some good basketball, but don't want to spend a lot of money, this is the event for you. Tickets cost between $8 and $16 depending on the session, or you can buy an all-session ticket for $75. The seats will be general admission. On Sunday, there will be a pep rally inside the Fieldhouse with live entertainment, complimentary popcorn, soft drinks and face painting.

Project Prom annual dress give-away

When: March 5

Where: Flanner & Buchanan Community Life Center located at 10612 East Washington Street, Indianapolis

Ladies, here is an opportunity to clean out your closet and do some good. Project Prom helps girls who are in a financial hardship with free dresses, jewelry, shoes, evening bags and wraps. So far, 70 girls have signed up to attend. If you have items to donate, you can bring them to The Vault located at 700 Main Street in Beech Grove or Flanner & Buchanan Community Life Center.

Concealed carry fashion show 

When: March 5 

Where: The Bitwell Event Center located at 950 South White River Parkway West Drive 

Women can learn from speakers, shop exhibitors specializing in women's concealed carry products, take self defense demos and see a concealed carry fashion show. There will also be giveaways.

Barks, Brews & BBQ to benefit the Humane Society for Hamilton County

When: March 6

Where: The Pavilion at Pan Am Plaza located at 201 South Capital Avenue, Indianapolis 

This is a beer festival where you can bring your dog! There will be several local and regional breweries at the event. The $25 admission includes 2 drink tickets and a doggie bandana. If you are under 21, you can get in for free with a donation to the Humane Society for Hamilton County. The event benefits the Humane Society for Hamilton County.

Remarkable Women of Indiana 

When: March 5

Where: The Indiana State Museum 

The Indiana State Museum will pay tribute to women whose commitment to business has helped society.

LGBT Wedding Expo 

When: March 6

Where: Regions Tower located at 211 North Pennsylvania Street

This one-day event for same-sex couples features more than 50 LGBT-friendly exhibitors. There will be florists, caterers, wedding venues, honeymoon destinations, officiants and more.
