INDIANAPOLIS – Your stomach is probably full and holiday shopping is in full swing, but there are plenty of activities to enjoy with family and friends.

This weekend is all about spending time with those you love and shopping small.

Here are the top six things to do in Indianapolis this weekend:

Light up Monument Circle

As a tradition for many families, watch the holiday lights come to life the day after Thanksgiving during the Circle of Lights celebration. The event kickoff at 6 p.m. and Santa, along with Mayor Joe Hogsett, will flip the light switch to turn on over 4,000 lights shortly before 8 p.m. Toy soldiers, sailors, elves and giant ornaments will take over Monument Circle while special guest Josh Kaufman headlines the musical performance. After the music, you can enjoy fireworks with those you love.

Let your pet enjoy the holidays

Just because you have your photo with Santa planned, doesn’t mean your furry friend has to be left out of all the fun. The popular Pet Photo Night returns to Greenwood Park Mall beginning this Sunday through Dec. 11. Your pet will get a chance to hop on Santa’s lap and make lasting memories. Just in case you were wondering: Pet Photo nights are hosted after regular mall closing and the set gets an extensive cleaning following the event to remove any potential risk to allergy sufferers.
