INDIANAPOLIS -- Valentine's Day weekend may be filled with roses, heart-shaped candy and packed restaurants, but that doesn't mean you have to participate in the festivities (especially if you despise the holiday).
Plenty of other events from art fairs to Grammy viewing parties are taking place this weekend.

14th Annual Indiana Art Fair
Indiana State Museum – 650 W. Washington Street
Saturday (10 a.m.) and Sunday (11 a.m.)
See Hoosier-made art crafted by more than 60 artists during the 14th annual Indiana Art Fair. Expect to see contemporary and traditional art along with wearable pieces and items made for display in your home. Proceeds go toward public art and local school programs.

Sunday at 6 p.m.
Get off your couch, get out of your comfort zone and meet some new friends during the Grammys viewing party at the HiFi. If you’re kind of shy, don’t worry because you already have something in common with everyone in the room – you all love music. This event is catered to those 21 and over.

500 Festival 3-Miler
Banker’s Life Fieldhouse – 125 S. Pennsylvania Street
Saturday at 9 a.m.
Whether you’re training for the Mini Marathon or looking to achieve some new fitness goals, the 500 Festival’s 3-Miler event will get you on the pavement. This three-mile event will lead you along the streets of downtown past some of the city’s most famous landmarks.

The Food Concert

Saturday 6-10 p.m.
This event made just for you and your significant other includes wine tasting, a five course meal, music by an urban violinist, spoken word entertainment and more. Tickets are only sold in pairs and must be purchased in advance.

Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
This weekend offers the perfect opportunity for a girls’ outing. The Indy Women’s Expo will feature fashion shows, beauty products, home décor. self-help seminars, DIY ideas, food demos and more.

Be My Valentine Cupcake 5K Run/Walk
Athenaeum Theatre – 401 E. Michigan Street
Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
This downtown fun run was basically made for you and your friends (or significant other). Complete a 5K in the Mass Ave neighborhood and you’ll find sweet treats waiting for you at the end – think cupcakes and hot chocolate.
