Pedestrian struck and killed in Hancock Co

HANCOCK COUNTY, Ind. -- A pedestrian was struck and killed Thursday night in the area of 2300 S 200 W in Hancock County.

The sheriff's department says Kyle Gulley, 20, of Greenfield, was helping take a vehicle off a wrecker when he stepped too far out on the road and was hit by a Ford Focus.

Authorities say the driver of the Focus, 18-year-old Darcie Huber of Greenfield, was treated at Hancock Regional Hospital and released.

Gulley died at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing but authorities say, at this time, it doesn't appear that Huber was impaired at the time of the crash.
