INDIANAPOLIS -- Traffic will change again on U.S. 31 in Hamilton County on Wednesday as INDOT crews route vehicles over newly constructed bridges.
Northbound traffic will shift onto new bridges over 106th and 116th streets Wednesday. Southbound traffic is anticipated to do the same on Thursday. The traffic shifts will open the freeway to three lanes and remove the final two traffic signals from U.S. 31 through Carmel.
After Wednesday, drivers looking to access 106th Street from northbound U.S. 31 must do so via the new exit ramp just north of I-465.
INDOT also expects the eastbound and westbound I-465 exit ramps onto U.S. 31 to be widened to two lanes by the end of the week. All ramps at the I-465/U.S. 31 intersection should be open by the end of the year.
