PLAINFIELD — A Ray's trash truck lost an axle and ended up on its side in Plainfield Monday morning.
The mishap happened about 6 a.m. on U.S. 40 just east of downtown Plainfield.
Eastbound lanes of the busy road were closed while a wrecker was brought in to get the truck upright and towed away.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
