RANDOLPH COUNTY, Ind. -- Two people in Randolph County are facing possible jail time after police discovered one of their dogs dead in their yard and another severely malnourished.
The suspects' landlord told police she hadn't seen the pair for a "couple of weeks" prior to the animals' discovery.
Police found one dog tied to a tree with no food or water in sight. On another side of the property they found a homemade shelter full of trash and debris.
That's where they noticed the second dog dead and looking severely malnourished.
William and Jessica Brandenburg are each facing one count of animal cruelty. Their landlord says she can't understand how they could have possibly let things get that bad.
