MADISON COUNTY, Ind. -- An elderly and his wife are among three people who died in a head-on crash in Madison County on Thursday.
The Madison County Sheriff's Department responded to the crash on SR 32 between Lapel and Anderson near CR675W around 3 p.m.
Police say a black John Hurley, 85 was driving a Honda Civic with his wife, Virginia, 84, east on SR32 when they collided head-on with a Chrysler minivan driven by Hal Eugene Montgomery, 78.
A witness told police that they saw the Honda cross the centerline before the crash.
John and Virginia Hurley died at the scene. Montgomery was the only person in the minivan and was taken to the hospital where he later died.
The crash remains under investigation by the Madison County Sheriff's department.
