INDIANAPOLIS -- Two drivers were both charged with driving while intoxicated in connection with a weekend crash that left one man dead.
The crash happened around 2:30 a.m. Sunday on a ramp from Rockville Road to I-465. A Ford Mustang and a Buick were both involved in the crash. Police say one of the cars may have cut in front of the other while getting on the ramp.
The passenger riding in the Ford Mustang was killed in the crash. He has been identified as James Hardcastle, 40.
The driver of that vehicle was initially trapped in the car, but was freed and taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. He was later identified as Glen Murphy, 38. Murphy has been preliminary charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated - causing death.
The driver of a Buick sedan was also taken to the hospital, he was later identified as Michael Strugala, 40. He was also charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
Both men were arrested after being released from the hospital.
