INDIANAPOLIS -- An Indianapolis 10-year-old and a Marion County 911 dispatcher were honored Tuesday as 2016 Local 911 Heroes.
Jasmine Nichols, 10, and 911 dispatcher Courtney Bush were honored during the National Emergency Number Association's convention downtown.
Nichols called 911 in February when her grandmother had a medical emergency.
Officials say Bush helped the girl when she couldn't remember her grandmother's address.
"I asked her to look outside and I kind of knew her whereabouts, so I just started naming streets until she said, yes, that's my street name," Bush said.
Nichols couldn't attend Tuesday's ceremony due to an illness in the family.
