INDIANAPOLIS -- Two Indiana State Police vehicles were hit in separate incidents along the interstate while investigating crashes Sunday.
The first happened on I-465 near the 10.5 mile marker on the city's west side at 7:29 a.m. Trooper Jacob Wildauer was blocking the far left lane with his patrol car while investigating a single car crash. While he and the driver involved in the crash were sitting in his squad car waiting for a tow truck, a person driving southbound on I-465 hit the car. The trooper had all of his emergency lights on.
According to a press release from Indiana State Police, Jasmine Johnson, 22, of Indianapolis told investigators she was driving approximately 50 miles per hour when the car in front of her started to slow down. She said she hit her brakes and lost control, which caused her to hit the police vehicle.
