UPDATE: Police have identified the woman killed in the 3400 block of North Auburn Road as Stephanie Harris, 47.

INDIANAPOLIS — A woman has been killed, and a man left in critical condition after a pair of shootings on the northwest side Monday night.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were dispatched to the area of West 34th Street and Auburn Road just before midnight on reports of shots fired when they located an adult female who had been shot. The female was en route to the hospital to be treated for her critical wounds when officials say she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.

While on the scene of the first shooting, IMPD officers responded to a report of a second person shot in the 2900 Block of Lafayette Road, where officers found an adult male with gunshot wounds. The male was then transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

Homicide detectives believe that both shootings are connected and that this is an isolated incident.

Anyone with information about this incident should call the IMPD Homicide Office at 317-327-3475 or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477.
