TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. – Two people were killed in a crash Tuesday afternoon in Tippecanoe County.
Deputies with the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office said the accident happened on State Road 25 N near County Road 1075 N around 4 p.m.
Investigators believe a 2009 gold Toyota Corolla drove into the side of a maroon 2014 semi-truck, driven by Jerry Watkins, 48, of Michigantown. Preliminary investigation finds the Toyota failed to stop at the intersection and under rode the side of the semi-trailer.
Those inside the car were wearing seatbelts, deputies said, but the crash was too severe. Both people inside the car died on scene, police said.
The driver of the semi was not injured.
