INDIANAPOLIS—Police are investigating a late-morning double shooting in the Haughville area of Indianapolis.
A man and woman were shot in the 500 block of North Pershing Avenue. That's near West Michigan Street and North Belmont Avenue, west of downtown. Both victims are described by police as in stable condition. Their names have not been released.
IMPD Public Information Officer Sgt. Grace Sibley says officers have investigated two reports of shots fired in the same area over the last 24-hours. Whether there's a connection to the Wednesday shooting isn't clear.
Sibley says police hope neighborhood residents will come forward with information that can help detectives make an arrest. Tips can also be called in at: 317-262-TIPS.
