JENNINGS COUNTY, Ind. -- Two young brothers were killed and a man was burned after a home caught fire in Jennings County Thursday evening.

Firefighters responded to the home on N. CR 615 E. in Butlerville just after 11 p.m.

When firefighters arrived on the scene flames were coming through the roof of the home. The homeowner, Kenneth Collett, 55, was able to escape.  He was taken to St. Vincent Jennings Hospital and then transferred to Eskenazi Hospital to be treated for burns and smoke inhalation. His condition was not released.

The bodies of two young children were found inside the home after the fire was extinguished. Jennings County deputy Coroner Alden Rudicel identified the children as Carson Collett, 4, and Carter Collett, 3.
