Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton and his family got some unwelcome news Sunday: Their grandmother was the victim of a gravesite mix-up.
ABC-affiliate WPLG in Miami reported yesterday that Hilton's father, T.Y. Hilton, Sr., was informed by Dade Memorial Park Cemetary that Lula Mae Hilton – the Colts player's grandmother – was not buried where they thought she was.
According to WPLG, she was actually buried in the plot directly to the right of the one the Hiltons have been visiting for the past eight years.
"They dug the hole right here, so I don't know what's going on," Hilton Sr. told WPLG. "They dug the hole right here and put the headstone right here, so how did she get (in the plot nearby)?"
The cemetery said it was working to "rectify the situation," but wouldn't comment further.
