The clock is ticking on the holiday season, and for many, it means no gifts under the tree and possibly no food on the table for Christmas.
To prevent that, organizations like the United Way of Central Indiana (UWCI) are scrambling to help out.
UWCI is trying to raise $40,000 by Christmas Eve for its United Christmas Service program. The money will help put food on the table and toys under the tree for as many as 800 families.
