EDITOR’S NOTE: A previous version of the story that was published Nov. 18, 2014, referenced an outdated law enforcement bulletin about the incident.

A break-in at a southeast side restaurant was not an attempted ambush on officers, according to new information from Metro Police.

A man dressed in camouflage fatigues and armed with an assault rifle broke into the Flashbacks Bar and Grille on Southport Road in an early morning burglary.

Surveillance video shows the suspect was in the restaurant for approximately two minutes before leaving.

Authorities believe he was not lying in wait for officers to arrive.

No one else was in the restaurant at the time.

Investigators believe the restaurant was not specifically targeted and have not released any information on possible suspects.

Police have been concerned about possible attacks on officers once a grand jury decision is announced in Ferguson, Missouri, in the shooting death of Michael Brown by a police officer.
