More lane restrictions will go into effect on U.S. 31 Tuesday as INDOT begins laying bridge beams over 116th Street.
From 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., contractors will set beams for the new U.S. 31 bridges over 116th street. The construction will require lane restrictions on northbound and southbound U.S. 31. The restrictions will recur on Sept. 18, 22 and 25.
INDOT said temporary traffic stops of up to 20 minutes should be expected.
On Wednesday, INDOT will close the intersection of 116th and Pennsylvania streets for approximately 60 days to construct a roundabout. The closure won't begin until the new 11th Street bridge over U.S. 31 is opened.
