INDIANAPOLIS -- Hoosier veterans challenging the government to increase their benefits may have to wait at least 3 years for a response.
Right now---6,465 Hoosier veterans receiving some level of benefits are challenging the system to do more.
Many have been waiting since 2011, a few cases date back to 2009.
The local VA office has rearranged workers and added technology to speed up the process.
But the reality is there are too many complicated cases and not enough people to respond to the veterans.
