Victim identified in deadly crash with IndyGo bus on near east side

UPDATE: The Marion County Coroner's Office has identified the woman killed in a crash with an IndyGo bus on Wednesday as Cindy Evans, 54.

INDIANAPOLIS — A woman is dead, and two others have been hospitalized after a crash with an IndyGo bus on the city's near east side, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Just after 3 p.m., IMPD officers were dispatched to the intersection of East Michigan Street and North Davidson Street on a report of an accident involving an IndyGo Bus and a passenger-car vehicle.

Occupants of the car were found to be an adult female and a young child. Both were transported to a nearby hospital where the woman was pronounced dead. The young child is currently listed in stable condition.

An occupant of the IndyGo bus was transported to the hospital as well and is currently listed as stable.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident, according to Grace Sibley, IMPD Public Information Officer.

The Marion County Coroner will release identification once proper next-of-kin has been notified.

IMPD detectives are reviewing video and witness statements at this time.
