INDIANAPOLIS -- A victim was killed in a hit-and-run Friday evening on the near-south side.
The crash happened on the 2100 block of South East Street shortly before 8 p.m.
Police say a man riding a bicycle was struck by a vehicle, which then fled from the scene.
The caller eventually called police and reported the incident and returned to the area, where police found the man lying in the middle of the road. He was pronounced dead on scene.
Police are treating the collision as a hit-and-run.
