INDIANAPOLIS -- If you're looking to donate blood in the wake of the terror attack in Orlando, there's no better day to do so than Tuesday – which happens to be World Blood Donor Day.

The American Red Cross says someone in the U.S. needs a blood transfusion every two seconds. To meet that demand, 14,000 donations a day must be collected.

To become a donor, you must be 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and have a blood donor card or valid driver's license (or two other forms of ID). You must also be in generally good health.

On Tuesday, Indy Pride will hold a blood drive in honor of the victims of the terror attack in Orlando at the Indy Pride headquarters at 429 E. Vermont Street from 4-8 p.m.

There were also two blood mobiles on Monument Circle Tuesday afternoon.

If you didn't make it to either blood drive, you can go to the Indiana Blood Center located at 3450 N. Meridian Street any day to donate.

For more information about donating blood, visit www.redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS.
