ELKHART, Ind. -- President Barack Obama's visit to Indiana was very special for one man -- 108-year-old Lester Townsend.

Townsend is the grandson of a slave, and was able to meet Obama before his speech last week.

In a video posted by The White House, Obama is introduced to Townsend by Indiana Sen. Joe Donnelly.

"The grandson of a slave, shaking hands with the president of the United States," Townsend said when he met Obama.

Obama asks Townsend what everybody was thinking, "How come you look so good?"

He asks Townsend what he eats.

"Whatever they bring me," Townsend responds.

Obama had a short meeting with the man, but before they parted ways, Townsend told him, "I never thought I'd live to see this."
