LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. – Despite warmer weather, some ski slopes were open for the first time Tuesday. Perfect North Slopes near Cincinnati has opened a few runs, for now - but the little bit of snow is definitely making for a whole lot of fun.
A recent dip in temperatures allowed Perfect North to make just enough snow to open part of a hill, and on its opening day Tuesday, winter-sports enthusiasts were taking full advantage.
Roughly 20 percent of the ski runs at Perfect North had snow Tuesday.
Owner Chip Perfect says during its 36 years of business, Perfect North is dealing with the worst winter weather ever.
“It probably doesn’t make a lot of economic sense for us to be open today,” Perfect said. “It’s going to cost us more to be open than we’re going to bring in.”
Perfect North will also be open Wednesday, but after that there are no definitive plans, other than hoping it’s cold enough to make snow.
