INDIANAPOLIS -- A Clinton County Sheriff's detective lieutenant posted an emotional video Wednesday of his drive as part of the procession that carried Deputy Carl Koontz's body back to Kokomo.

Koontz was shot and killed Sunday while serving a warrant in Howard County.

On his Facebook page, Detective Lt. Jerrad Blacker said he saw and "amazing outpouring of support" following Koontz's death.

"I cannot tell you how important it is for the family of this hero, his agency and his community, to see such love and compassion by so many people," Blacker wrote. "It truly goes to show how great this country really is and how proud I am to have seen it firsthand today."

Blacker was one of the many officers who turned out for Koontz's escort Monday.

"I can tell you we shed many tears often today along this route," Blacker wrote. "Although we may not have known Deputy Koontz personally, his community has shown the type of man he was, and what he meant to them. And it is for that reason I, along with every other law enforcement officer, will continue to fight for each and every one of you."
