INDIANAPOLIS -- Starting in 2016, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department has made a point of walking the neighborhoods and forming bonds with communities.
IMPD Officer Jim Gillespie formed a bond with a couple kids Wednesday, as he raced them up and down Market Street.
In a video posted on IMPD's Facebook page, Gillespie -- in full uniform, mind you -- and the kids raced about half a block.
The caption of the video reads:
Officer ?#JimGillespie? with @IMPD_News trys (does???) to outrun a kid outside on Market Street and it was close or was it? ?#BuildingBridges? and ?#KnockingDownSterotypes?
People in the background of the video can be heard talking and laughing.
"Whoo!" One person said. "He got ya!"
Watch the race, and try to figure out who won, below.
