BROWN COUNTY — Water problems due to recent heavy rainfall closed one of Indiana's most beloved state parks Monday.

Brown County State Park and the Abe Martin Lodge closed to the public at around 4 p.m. today due to a lack of usable water, according to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

The park will remain closed Tuesday, and DNR said the decision about closure will then be day-to-day.

DNR said the problem stems from heavy rainfall leading to increased soil runoff into Lake Ogle, the park's water source.
