RICHMOND -- A Richmond manufacturer plans to add up to 200 additional jobs by 2022. Omen International, which is a subsidiary of the Israel-based Omen Casting Company, makes aluminum parts for the auto industry.
About 100 people currently work at the Richmond facility.
About 21,000 square feet will be added to the 76,000 square foot factory at a cost of $15 million.
Omen says it is expanding because of growing demand from U.S. and German automakers for its aluminum drivelines, steering components and oil pumps.
"Indiana's business climate and skilled local workforce have allowed Omen to ramp up our operations and our headcount quickly since finalizing plans to establish operations in Richmond in 2016," said Doug Baldwin, Omen Executive Vice President USA.
Governor Eric Holcomb said, "Indiana and Israel have important economic ties and I was pleased to meet with Israeli government officials and business executives like Omen Casting Group Owner Yehuda Ben-Haim in Tel Aviv this spring to show out appreciation for their contributions to our state."
Omen Casting Group was established in 1946 and has operations in Israel. Portugal and Indiana.
The hiring of additional employee will begin next spring.
