INDIANAPOLIS -- A controversial upcoming transportation plan will be shown off at upcoming IndyGo meetings.
There will be a meeting for the Red Line Thursday afternoon from 4-6 p.m. at the College Avenue Branch Library.
The organizers will show off updated plans for the transportation program, then answer questions from people who live in the area and business owners.

Despite the plans, there is still a lot of opposition to the Red Line. One of the biggest criticisms is that it will be a hinderance to traffic in the area.
"There are already many Indygo buses that go down our street for anyone that is interested!" One commenter wrote on an online petition to stop the project. "These current buses are about 99-95% empty. All the time. As in every day people do not take them."
The planned route for Phase 1 of Red Line is:
- Begins near College Avenue and 66th Street
- South on College Avenue to 38th Street
- West on 38th Street to Meridian Street
- South on Meridian Street to 18th Street
- West on 18th Street to Capitol Avenue
- South on Capitol Avenue to the Downtown Transit Center via Washington or Maryland streets
- Southeast on Virginia Avenue to Shelby Street
- Ending at the University of Indianapolis
There is another meeting Monday, July 25 from 6-8 p.m. at the Big Car Tube Factory at 1125 Cruft St.
