INDIANAPOLIS -- Jessica Masker's family doesn't want you to know what it's like to light candles, send lanterns into the sky or celebrate a birthday when a piece of your heart is missing.

Masker disappeared April 15, 2013, just weeks after giving birth to a son. Police say she walked out the door of her cousin's Indianapolis house and her family hasn't seen her since.

Her family says they have called the Missing Person's Unit of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department every week since Jessica went missing.

"No one wants to live in fear and pain as to what's going to happen next," Jessica's sister Christina said. "Not just her being gone and not being here with us now, but what's happened to her."

Masker's stepfather Tim Edwards says they began taking the search into their own hands.

"We went out and kicked in doors of trap houses," Edwards said. Around the time of her disappearance, Masker was trying to kick a drug habit and escape an abusive relationship.

Masker's family believes several people may have been involved in her disappearance but one person could change everything.

"Whoever's done something, please come forward," Christina said. "It's like, you can't let go and I'll never give up hope for my sister. I'll continue to keep looking and keep searching until I find out what happened."
