INDIANAPOLIS – A southern Indianapolis community has charmed neighbors for nearly 95 years, and it continues to attract more as the area welcomes development and growth.
Those that call Homecroft “home,” will share some of their most vivid memories while spreading the historic district’s past.
Kyle Jones, who has served as Homecroft’s Town Council president for the past 28 years, has lived in the area her entire life. In fact, she currently lives next door to her childhood home, where members of her family continue to reside.
“Some of my fondest memories were being able to get out on my bike and just ride any place I wanted to in the neighborhood. Your parents didn’t worry about you because they knew you were safe, and we still have that today,” she said.
Jones isn’t the only one who has fallen in love with the suburban neighborhood.
Homecroft was named Indianapolis' neighborhood of the month by Mayor Joe Hogsett in March.
