A Middleton girl is expected to fully recover after she was hurt in what's being described as a "a complete fluke."

According to Channel300.com, the unidentified Wisconsin Heights player was running down the court at Middleton Fieldhouse Sunday when she fell and slid on the floor.

After the 14-year-old girl wasn't able to get up, she noticed a piece of the floorboard around 3-4 inches long, pushed into her stomach.

School officials said there was no blood and no injuries to her internal organs. She spent the night at a local hospital and was released.

The girl is expected to be back on the court this week and school officials are fixing the floor.
